Yeeeeeha finally going to put my dome together Saturday!! This has been along time coming. I have been building the 22''9" low profile for over a year. Well went crazy on it then life got into the way and had to take time off but been finishing all the peices this past week and going to raise it Saturday if weather lets me. I also built the frame out of recycled shipping pallets and skids. In using them it took quite some time to dismantle all the skids but well worth it. The only thing I had to purchase was the greenhouse film wich was $125.00 because I ordered way more than I needed. I stuck to the plans on timber sizes except my riser walls are 2x6 (1.75"×5.5") because after all the ripping on the table saw for the triangles I decided to just use the full boards that were on the skids. Plus I figured the stronger the base the better. I am in kansas and the wind blows pretty hard here and the dome isn''t protected by any wind breaks so it doesn''t hurt to beef up the foundation. I am extremely excited to finally get it built. I plan on using it for my aquaponics business that I am in the process of building. I have enjoyed the whole process of building it and just CROSSING MY FINGERS all my measurements and angles are correct. I have checked them 100''s of times during the building process but still worry that all my hard work will be a pile of sticks that don''t line up when we put it together. Lol anyhow I will try post some pics after its all up and together.. thanks for all the knowledge from everyone here it has helped a bunch. The only regret I have is I wish I would''ve built a bigger one! I still have enough lumber(skids) to build at least 2 more this size so I figure I can build my next one 2x as big.lol I also have a portable sawmill that will take care of any additional lumber I will need just have to find some trees:) take care and thank you again!!! Remember THE REVOLUTION IS YOU....
