Hello, I''m working on a pure compression dome based on late gothic flamboyant rib vaults. The Idea is to model a gothic pannel, and spread it over a geodesic dome. Since I''d like to rely on pure compression, and want to keep as many same-size panels as possible, a good compromise seems to be a paraboloid. At this point, I have two questions: will it work ? (stable in pure compression) If yes, I''m looking for a script (python would be awesome, because you can draw with Blender) to help me calculate the vertices of the paraboloid. If no, what would be a better/wiser shape to chose ? Thank you for your help (and for this great source of informations!)
