We have just purchased the plans for the dome and we have a couple of questions I''d appreciate your help:
- where is the best place for the door?
- should we insulate the north side?
- is the water tank system efficient?

The door should be shown on the plans, I think you have the GD15 plans so you can have more than one door if you need. You can insert 2" polystyrene or kingspan insulation inside the frame, I would say this will help keep the dome warm. You can also fix polythene sheet on the inside of the frame to give a double glazing effect. I wouldn't recommend the water tamk system in the UK, we tend to get dull grey winters with very little solar gain. The water tank system was designed for climates that have clear crisp sunny days, the water gets warm during the day and gives up the heat overnight. Just let me know if you have more questions. Cheers, Paul

I am interested in building a geodesic dome green house for year-round use. We live in New Hampshire, USA, so it should work well.
I like your design from an engineering perspective. Simple and repeatable. While we can probably make do with the 19.5' diameter, we would prefer the larger one. What would it cost for that one in English as opposed to French (Metric) dimensions? ;-)

i would recommend putting a large compost bin on the north wall as this will generate its own heat and warm the greenhouse for you :D

I bought a dome plan online, how are they delivered. Haven't received them by email. I sent a note to Paul, haven't heard from him either. Can anybody explain how and when plans arrive. I am used to, I buy, they are delivered in a few moments.

Hi Mcrtchfield, you should have them by now, I send them manually so it can take 24hrs or so. Check your junk mail box and let me know if you still haven't got them.
