I was wondering if anyone had any advice on building a dome which would be covered by 6"-12" of soil and plants.
My idea is to build a 4'' tall play/hobbit house out of metal conduit and plywood panels to cover the 2v dome. Then I would cover the plywood with a rubber pond liner then soil.
Is this safe?
Is there a better way?
Would pressure treated wood be safer?

Hi Marcherrick, Even 6 inches of soil weighs quite a lot, I wouldn't take any chances on using conduit covered with ply. Cover the whole thing in 4 inches of concrete reinforced with wire then top off with 6 inches of top soil. It may be more expensive but it won't rot and collapse in a year or two.

Thank you for the input. I figured that I would need to make it more sturdy but was hoping that I could get away without the concrete.
Great site!
