I am currantly building a 3v dome (well still in planning process)
I have had a play witht he printed paper domes on this site and now am attempting a small scale wodden dome. one thing that is confusing me is that the 3v paper model has 2 strut lengths (6cm and 7cm) where as the 3v calclator gives you 3 strut lengths.
why is there a difference between the paper one and a strut one?
can i just cut my struts at 2 sizes?

There are two panels A and B, both panels have the same length strut on the bottom panel B has shorter side struts, so that's 2 different lengths so far. Are you assuming that panel A has all sides equal? With the paper panel it may be difficult to measure accurately but in fact the side struts are a tiny bit bigger than the bottom strut. This is very important because if you make all the struts the same you will get flat hexagon panels. Also when you build your dome be carefull not to mix up the two different struts (ther's only about 20mm diffence in a 4.5m diameter dome)
