Geo-Dome has an expanding range of hand made timber geodesic dome kits, we can supply basic kits on a pallet as a cost effective option, part built or fully installed domes. Covering materials include, 5 season horticultural polythene, 2mm polycarbonate, 10mm twinwall polycarbonate or 4mm toughened glass.
All the dome kits are handmade by Paul in the workshop here in Cumbria, north west England. Please bear in mind that as all the kits are made one by one and there can be a long waiting list at busy times of the year. I'm working on a more mass produced dome design that should be ready mid 2013 you can have a sneak peak Here
We have 3 standard sizes to choose from, but can make any design published on the geo-dome website, take a look at the design porfolio or geodesic dome plans section for more inspiration. Covering options and prices can be found here.
Standard Geodesic dome kits
The GD5 is the smallest dome we produce, at 2.7m diameter at floor level and 3m at it's widest the GD5 will fit in most town gardens. It can be customised with up to 2 doors, 2 auto windows, staging and a variety of cover materials including horticultural polythene, 2mm clear polycarbonate, 10mm twinwall or 4mm toughened glass. The frames come as standard in pressure treated softwood but can be painted or varnished to customer requirements.
At 4.8m diameter the GD18 is our mid sized kit, classic 3v style with a floor area of about 18 Sqm this dome is big enough for growing veg or housing a table and chairs for alfresco dinning. Customisation options include up to 5 doors and up to 9 auto or manual windows. The cover options are the same as all the standard kits, polythene, polycarbonate or glass, this is probably the most popular kit we make.
The largest standard kit is the GD27 which is 6 meters in diameter, We can make larger domes (up to 9m diameter) but this is the biggest dome we produce that can fit in a panel van in one go and can be built by one person without scaffolding. Options include up to 2 doors and 5 large auto or manual windows. With a 27 sqm footprint the GD27 is large enough for professional size gardens or schools.
Custom Geodesic dome kits
If you are looking for something different we can make custom domes to your requirements, contact Paul or take a look at the design porfolio for inspiration.
we use F-Clean for greenfarming, square meter starts at 20 euro, but harvest happens more often, and film is magic,

I love you site, it's been the most informative and helpful I have come across yet, Thank you!!! I am in the process of designing my 20'3v and I love the look of the tight skin on you front page, what is the material and how is it attached? I am in Nevada where we get intense sun in the summer and some snow in the winter. Do you have any suggestions?

I really like the green finish!
Thought: calculations would actually be easier and the result stunning relative to sales( appearance and thermal loss control) if the struts followed the radius in surface curvature. It's the angualarity of the surface the results in heat loss through air turbulance....

I really like the design of the dome greenhouse.
Are you able to strongly secure and/or fix dome structure to the ground, as we have strong winds where we live.
How much would it cost to buy and send in Australian dollars?
Do you have a distributor in Australia?
Thanks Gail

Hi Paul, I really like the look of the dome, and it doesn't look as if I might require a degree to assemble it. Can you please advise who is the South African distributor (if any) or would it be possible to have it shipped to me? thank you, Kim

Hello Paul
I would like to know if I can increase the size of the dome GD27. Can I add more triangles to it or do I have to build a new one with longer struts. Is there a way to enlarge the domes without building new.I am thinking in the future for a 28 foot dome. greenhouse.
Thank You Junor
